The University appointed Chiel to carry out refurbishment works of the existing student accommodation within Jack Martin 1. Some works comprise stitching the cracks in the masonry alongside the replacement of cracked brickwork, reinstatement of movement joints where possible, repairing and clearing below-ground drainage, replacement of the rainwater guttering and downpipes with the installation of additional downpipes, a full internal strip out of all bedrooms including ensuites, kitchens and tutor flats
