Chiel Construction successfully delivered the construction of a new restaurant extension and the refurbishment of existing dining and kitchen facilities at Warwick Castle for Merlin Attractions Operations Ltd. The project enhanced the capacity and functionality of the venue, creating a modern, high-quality dining environment within a historic and operational setting.

Working under a competitive tender procurement route, the £1.54m project comprised the extension of the existing restaurant, alongside significant internal alterations to reconfigure and upgrade the current dining areas. The scheme also included the installation of a new bar, enhanced service areas, and improvements to back-of-house kitchen facilities to support increased visitor demand.

A comprehensive programme of mechanical and electrical upgrades was delivered to ensure the new and existing spaces met modern performance standards, supporting efficient day-to-day operations. High-quality finishes and materials were carefully selected to complement the character of the Warwick Castle estate while delivering durability and functionality in a high-traffic environment.

As Principal Contractor, Chiel Construction managed the works within a live operational environment, ensuring that the existing restaurant facilities remained open throughout the construction period. This required careful planning, phased delivery, and close coordination with stakeholders to minimise disruption to visitors and staff.

Delivered over a 34-week programme, the completed project provides an enhanced dining experience for guests, with increased capacity, improved circulation, and modernised facilities that align with the expectations of a major tourist destination.
