Classic Car Restoration Workshop
Client: Hillcrest Technologies Ltd
Location: Stoneleigh Road, Coventry
Value: £180K
Chiel Construction successfully delivered the refurbishment and upgrade of a classic car restoration workshop at Brook Farm, Coventry, transforming the facility into a functional, high-quality workspace with modern supporting amenities.
Procured via competitive tender, the project was completed over a 12-week programme for Hillcrest Technologies Ltd. The scheme comprised a comprehensive package of internal refurbishment and fit-out works across the main workshop, offices, meeting rooms, storage areas, and welfare facilities, alongside external repair and maintenance works.
Works included internal strip-out, structural and non-structural alterations, formation of new stud walls and openings, and upgrades to the building fabric. High-performance resin flooring was installed to suit the operational demands of a working restoration workshop, complemented by plastering, new finishes, and full redecoration throughout. The project also incorporated the installation of new doors, windows, skirting, and joinery elements to enhance both functionality and appearance.
Mechanical and building services improvements were delivered to support the upgraded facility, including the provision of new kitchen and welfare areas, installation of undercounter water heaters, and a specialist 4-in-1 tap system. Compliance works were undertaken to meet current building and fire safety regulations, including fire stopping, upgraded fire alarm systems, and associated regulatory improvements.
Externally, the works included rendering, timber treatment, gutter maintenance, roof repairs, and the installation of new downpipes, ensuring the overall building was robust and fit for long-term use. The project required careful coordination to manage the reuse of existing materials and to work within structural and budgetary constraints while maintaining quality and programme certainty.
The completed workshop now provides a durable, efficient, and well-equipped environment supporting classic car restoration activities, with enhanced facilities that improve both operational performance and user experience.
