Chiel Construction successfully delivered the refurbishment and conversion of Gilks Garage Café, located on Banbury Road, Kineton, transforming the existing building into a high-quality, themed commercial dining space.

The project incorporated a full programme of demolition and site clearance works, preparing the structure for redevelopment. Key elements included the installation of a new drainage system and upgraded security measures to ensure both operational functionality and site safety.

Our team undertook a comprehensive electrical strip-out followed by a full installation, modernising the building’s services to meet current standards. This was complemented by an extensive internal fit-out, delivering bespoke finishes to the bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas, creating a cohesive and contemporary environment aligned with the client’s vision.

Delivered under a JCT 2016 Minor Works Building Contract, the £290k project was completed over a 13-week programme (29 April 2019 – 26 June 2019). Acting as Principal Contractor, Chiel Construction managed all on-site activities, coordinating trades and ensuring works were carried out safely and efficiently throughout.

The completed café now provides a functional, visually engaging, and high-quality commercial space, successfully blending practical performance with a distinctive themed aesthetic.
