Chiel Construction successfully delivered refurbishment works within the Frailty Unit at Warwick Hospital for South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, providing improved internal facilities within a live healthcare environment.
Working under a JCT Minor Works Building Contract (2016 Edition), procured via competitive tender, our team undertook a focused 4-week programme of refurbishment works. The project included demolition and alterations, internal installations, and the upgrade of fixtures, fittings, and sanitaryware to enhance functionality and compliance.
The scope of works incorporated drainage improvements, builders work, and mechanical and electrical upgrades, alongside the installation of new finishes and equipment to improve durability, hygiene, and ease of maintenance within the unit.
As Principal Contractor, Chiel Construction delivered the works within a live hospital setting, requiring careful coordination to minimise disruption to staff and patients. The short programme demanded efficient sequencing and close collaboration with the client and design team to ensure timely completion while maintaining safety and operational continuity.
The project was successfully completed to programme, delivering upgraded, functional, and compliant facilities that support the ongoing operation of the Frailty Unit and enhance the overall environment for patients and staff.
